Ready.
Raised in the countryside by her overprotective uncle, Miss Mina Penny’s dream of a triumphant London season is finally here. She determined her perfect match long ago: Rafe Bentley, the wickedest rake of them all. There’s only one very large, very unyielding obstacle: Rafe’s brother Drew, the reclusive Duke of Thorndon.
Aim.
This was supposed to be simple. Duke goes to London. Duke selects suitable bride. Love match? Not a chance. But when Drew meets Mina, she complicates everything. How can a lady armed with such beauty and brains fall for his irresponsible degenerate of a brother? Drew vows to save her from heartbreak and ruin, no matter the cost.

Desire!

But Mina is no damsel in distress. She’s daring, intuitive, passionate…and halfway to melting Drew’s cold heart. And although Mina thought she knew exactly what she wanted, one breathtakingly seductive kiss from Drew changes everything. Now Mina must decide between long-held dreams and dangerous new desires. Could her true destiny lie in the arms of a duke?

Have you ever wondered how it all began? Did you ever read about two characters in a series and wondered how they got together? How they ended up where they ended up? What their lives was before that? These questions have been plaguing me ever since I first heard of Ian Taggart's old partner and the man who recruited him at the Agency, John Bishop. Then as the story went on and as the world of the Masters and Mercenaries grew bigger and Bliss and Willow Fork were added into the mix whispers began to be heard about an old CIA operative that faked his death was actually alive and well. And then we find out that he became Henry Flanders, who we know is married to Nell Finn. And Lexi Blake did it again, people, because she jumped back in time and told us their story and it was everything I could have hoped for and more.

Top Ten Tuesday: Auto-Buy Authors

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Today's Top Ten Tuesday is all about auto-buy authors. Man oh man! This is a tough one.

Let me tell you something. My passion for reading came late in life, as I've told you guys many times. It wasn't until I was about 13 that I didn't see it as a pointless activity, and it still took me 3 more years to actually fall in love with it. But in the years since I've had a few authors that became auto-buys for me. An auto-buy author for me is something that doesn't happen easily. I may talk constantly about the same group of authors for years, without this list ever changing. It means that the name alone gives me this feeling of "I have to read this, I have to own this". It's a rare thing, because with these authors I rarely read the blurb before buying the books and reading them. I just go on faith, even if I end up not liking one of their books as much as I wanted to.

Another thing to keep in mind when reading this list is this: for me an auto-buy author isn't the one that I've only read one series from, even if that includes over 10 books. So because of that, authors that are near and dear to my heart like Kresley Cole or Kelley Armstrong didn't make this list. But I do love them, so I didn't forget them.

So with that in mind, let's get started.

Blurb (from Goodreads):
With the new year approaching, hospital chaplain Lindsay Harding heads for a much-needed break in the peaceful resort town of Duck on North Carolina's outer banks. Her plan to attend the wedding of her friend, Anna, runs aground when a boatload of trouble washes ashore, and as the old year ticks down, the body count goes up. Thrust into the path of an increasingly desperate killer, Lindsay must uncover a sinister secret before she winds up swimming with the fishes.

Old family scandals, sunken World War II U-boats, obscene desserts, and a stolen Doberman all guarantee a far from restful break for the irreverent reverend, who makes her second appearance in this lively mystery.

If I though I liked book 1, then the second installment was even better. Lindsay Harding has to deal with heartbreak, loss and more family drama in this book, and it was glorious.

The thing I loved most about this book was that even though it was just as funny as the previous one, it had a darker side and a more personal feel than A Murder On Mount Moriah. We get to learn more about Lindsay and her mother, and we get to understand who she is a little bit more.
