TANGLED: A Dark Protectors-Reece Family Novella by Rebecca Zanetti

After stealing the computer files that will free her once and for all, she finds herself on the run from Theo Reese, a pissed off vampire who has never fallen for her helpless act. A deadly predator too sexy for his own good. If he doesn't knock it off, he's going to see just how powerful she can really be.

HOLD ME: A Stark Ever After Novella by J. Kenner
My life with Damien has never been fuller. Every day is a miracle, and every night I lose myself in the oasis of his arms. But there are new challenges, too. Our families. Our careers. I know we will survive-we have to. Because I cannot live without Damien by my side. But sometimes the darkness seems overwhelming, and I am terrified that the day will come when Damien cannot bring the light.

DANGEROUS ATTRACTION by Sidney Bristol
Ex-Navy SEAL Travis Ration is an expert hunter. Whether his prey is criminal or victim, he always gets his mark. When the FBI call in a favor and ask him to look into a serial killer over the holiday break, he jumps at the opportunity to fill the long, cold days with something besides regret and bad movies. In Las Vegas, he's on the hunt for a prolific serial killer no one wants to admit exists. The leads are dry and the evidence gone, until she walks into his life. Bliss Giles-curvy, sassy and everything he can't have.

Every Dark Nights tale is breathtakingly sexy and magically romantic.

Yet another great collection from the 1001 Dark Nights series.

RAZR: A Demonica Novella by Larissa Ione

Every trip back to the Demonica world brings me so much joy, and Razr is no different. I have to be honest and say that, since it's been a while since I've read the Horsemen part of the series, I don't remember much about the heavenly weapons that the angels used, especially not the Gems of Enoch. I do assume it's mentioned in Revenant, but I haven't read that one yet. I'm rereading the entire series, so I'll get to it pretty soon.

It always surprises me how the world of Demonica shifts and manages to get bigger and bigger with each new story. Jedda is a creature I haven't even thought of being possible, to be honest, and I'm truly truly excited because that means there is new stuff that can be explored within this world *winks*. Razr also was really interesting, and I don't remember much of him from before, but I like how his story sheds some more light into the truly mysterious world of the angels within the Demonica series. We might know a few angels, but I feel like the more angels are brought into this story, the more we get to discover about the creatures.

The pacing is great and I didn't feel like I was reading a novella, although I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed for new, longer novels within this world *fingers crossed*. I wonder if this story somehow will influence the events in future books or if they somehow set the scene for more stories. I'm definitely looking forward to new stories, even if just novellas. Anything to keep me coming back to this world.

ARRANGED: A Masters and Mercenaries Novella by Lexi Blake

It's not a secret that I love this series, and I was super excited to find out that the playboy king would get his story told.

The thing that I loved most about this book was how it touched on the delicate subject of male submissives from a cultural point of view. It's true that society believes that men should be the dominant ones, while women should be 100% submissive, at least from a sexual perspective. Seeing Kash try to reconcile his status as king and a sexual sub was really interesting. I also loved how Ian, the ultimate Dom, gave Kash a really great speech about that. Blake really knows how to deliver some really powerful words, and she managed to do just that in this book.

Day was a wonderful heroine and I would have loved to have more scenes with her outside of her relationship with Kash. I would have wanted to see her battle her way through politics and changing the lives of so many women and girls with her ideas. Kash was an interesting character. It's really great to see he's not just the playboy I thought him to be, he was pushed by circumstances out of his control into that life, as a way to hide from his problems. I don't agree with how he did that, but I get it. I would have wanted to see a more complex scene following a certain really dramatic scene between these two, because I feel like the way it was dealt with wasn't as dramatic as what happened between them, but in the end it all works out.

I totally didn't anticipate who the bad guy of this story was. I had my eye on another character, and I'm very happy that in the end it turned out to be someone else.

All in all a great addition to the world of Masters and Mercenaries, and, as usual, I cannot wait for more!

TANGLED: A Dark Protectors-Reece Family Novella by Rebecca Zanetti

Although I’ve heard about this series before, this is the first time I’ve ever read a story from the Dark Protectors series. I was pleasantly surprised by this story. While I know nothing about the other characters or the mythology of this series, I was able to keep up pretty easily. If anything, the unknown details made me want to add the series to my TBR.

Ginny was a mystery to me. She seemed to know everyone and everyone seemed to know her, but she still remained a big unknown. She seems like a pretty resourceful woman, really smart and just a tiny little bit addicted to the adrenaline that comes with being a thief. I felt like I wasn’t able to fully appreciate her skills as a thief and as someone who has a plan ready for whatever situation she might find herself in, because I haven’t read any books in this series. I liked how she didn’t pretend to be someone she wasn’t. She never pretended to be someone honest or someone good, she just was. She likes the game, and I appreciated that about her. Theo, for all his pretending to be annoyed about it, also seemed to enjoy the chase. He seemed to have a knack for knowing when Ginny lied, although the how of it is never actually revealed. I wonder if maybe it’s because they end up being mates. Theo is someone who doesn’t hold back around her, he doesn’t treat her with kid gloves, and I liked that about him. It was also an interesting dynamic between them, because they knew each other growing up, and something happened that drew them apart. It was intriguing to have the main characters fully know each other and yet see them discover each other in this novella. It was like they knew each other, but they didn’t actually know each other, if it makes any sense.

I really enjoyed this story and I am very much intrigued by the world of the Dark Protectors, so I’m definitely going to read the rest of the series.

HOLD ME: A Stark Ever After Novella by J. Kenner

This was another new to me series, but if all books are like this one, I am pretty confident the series will become one of my favorites soon.

Although this story was sexy and sweet and incredibly romantic, the exploration of mental health was my favorite part. Nikki has had a really rough childhood, having been emotionally, mentally and sometimes even physically abused by her mother. That dynamic with her mother left scars, important scars that she is still struggling with. Nikki is a great mother, she loves her daughters immensely, and she loves her husband, Damien. But the thing I loved most was that we got to see a lot of Nikki's inner turmoil, her fight with her own demons, and with the possibility of her taking some drastic measures to deal with the darkness that was threatening to swallow her. I'm afraid of saying more, really, because of spoilers, but just now this was a really powerful story and I am extremely happy I read it.

DANGEROUS ATTRACTION by Sidney Bristol

Another first book from an author for me. It's funny, because this series has been popping up on my recommendations on Goodreads for a while now, so I am glad I finally got to read it.

I liked that there was a serial killer in this book. It's actually been a while since I last read a book with a serial killer. It was an interesting experience, and I definitely enjoyed it. I liked Travis. He was very intense, and he really didn't seem to have a lot of people skills. But I like how determined he was. I liked his focus. Ever since the beginning, he seemed like a guy willing to do anything in order to solve a case, and I liked his determination. Bliss was charming and funny. It was interesting to see how much her sister's mental health affected her. I also liked the fact that she didn't give up on her sister, that she fought for her.

There were a few surprises in this book, and some were really interesting. It took the whole serial killer aspect and used it in a very intriguing way. I did feel like the book was a bit rushed along the way, but all in all I liked it.

Overall, this was a great collection of novellas and I am looking forward for the next bundle.
