This does not influence my rating or the content of my reviewDon’t fall for your enemy…especially when he’s your new roommate.Dean Evans is the worst. Not only does the devil in disguise steal my pie on a regular basis, he also lives in the apartment right. Next. Door.I see him all the time. At the mailboxes. In the elevator.Every single morning. It's exhausting because he's exhausting. Now, after setting his apartment on fire, he's my roommate...and he's the worst at that too.I don't know what possessed me to let him stay with me. Pity, perhaps?I do know that I won't be falling for his charm.Or that panty-dropping smirk. His quick wit. That body he works so hard for.Nope. Not falling for any of it...least of all him. There might be a fine line between love and hate, but I know exactly where I stand.

One of the tropes I adore is enemies to lovers. Add in the tiny details that our enemies are neighbors and I am instantly interested. And having Teagan Hunter the one who wrote this book makes it for an even more appealing story. I couldn't stop myself from jumping at the chance to read this book in advance and people.... it was awesome! Let me tell you all about it.
Loathe Thy Neighbor tells the story of Dean and River, two neighbors that have so much hatred for each other, it's truly a miracle they haven't killed each other yet. River hates EVERYTHING about Dean: his taste in music (I disagree with River there, he has perfect taste in music...I mean.... Old Time Rock & Roll by Bob Seger? YES PLEASE!!), the fact that he has a pet turtle (again....I see nothing wrong here, River), but most importantly.. he steals her cherry pie every time she goes to the diner near their building. Now, I can't fault her here, I would also hate him for buying the last slice of pie.
Dean on the other hand is more annoyed by River. Hate on his part is a...well a strong word. He's definitely attracted to her, but he totally tries to ignore that part. He's convinced she went to the building manager with noise complaints, so he takes revenge on her every change he gets by playing his music loud. He knows she loves cherry pie, so he makes it a point to always buy the pie before she can get any, then eats it in front of her. Basically these two are behaving like children, and all everyone wants is to see them make out already. Including the reader.
I loved these two. They were so different, but somehow that made it all work. They have chemistry off the charts, even before they decide to try the friends with benefits relationship. Their banter is hilarious. They adore teasing each other and trying to piss each other off, and that leads to some really explosive scenes. and when they finally give in to their attraction and they kiss? Holy momma it's hot! I personally ADORED them together and yes, I do need to shout my feelings.
What I loved the most was how hilarious this book was. I laughed a ton at this book, from the first moment where River declares herself a hero for separating M&M's by color, to the last page when...well I won't speak a word of what happens at the end. But it all made me laugh like crazy.
As I've come to expect with all Teagan Hunter books, this was a hilarious read about relationships. And as always, we get to see perfectly how each couple has their own language that outsiders don't really understand. The fact that this is the beginning of a series makes me even happier because...well we know how I feel about series. If you want a funny romcom and if you love the enemies to lovers trope then this is your book.

I'm a Missouri-raised gal, but currently live in North Carolina with my US Marine husband and 9-year-old dog. I spend my days begging him for a cat, and I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When I'm not writing, you can find me binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural and One Tree Hill. I like cold weather, buy more paperbacks than I'll ever read, and I never say no to brownies.
Writing is my passion, and this is just the beginning of my journey.
