Blurb (from Goodreads):
The Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs series continues with a couple fighting to keep what they thought they had and gain what they didn’t know they needed.

Roxie Montgomery met her soul mate when she least expected it. When he asked her to marry her, she thought her happily ever after was only just beginning. Then, she found that walking into the sunset was much harder than her favorite books made it out to be. After a crushing loss, she feels as though she doesn’t know her husband anymore, or rather…she doesn’t know herself.

Carter Marshall has loved Roxie since the first time he saw her. But as the days pass between them, so does the distance. He doesn’t know how to show her that he’s all in, and honestly doesn’t know if she’s in at all. When an accident changes everything, they’ll have to decide if what they have can be salvaged, or if starting over is the answer. Or even possible.

Without fighting, without a true new beginning, sometimes, the remnants of what was lost can leave anyone jagged, shells of what they were before. It will take more than the idea of forever for Roxie and Carter to find themselves again, but as the Montgomerys know, nothing worth fighting for is easy.

My love of Carrie Ann Ryan's books is well known by now, and I'm happy to say the newest installment in the world of the big Montgomery clan did not disappoint.

Roxie and Carter's story was teased at since the very beginning of this spinoff. We didn't know what happened with them, we only know that it was something bad. And I liked that.

Jagged Ink is not your typical romance story. It tells the story of a couple struggling, a couple that can't communicate with each other. Roxie and Carter are two people dealing with the problems between them in their own way, but they forgot that being a couple means that dealing with those problems should be a team effort. They lost that, and you can tell from the way the first half of this book unfolds that they have no idea how to go back to what they were before. They're both hurting, and they aren't realizing that by staying apart they're just making things worse and making the pain bigger.

I will be honest, I struggled a bit with reading this book. It's a hard book to read, but also such a meaningful one, full of lessons and important messages. Once I managed to get my feelings in check I was able to enjoy the story more and more, and it was the perfect story for Roxie and Carter. I honestly don't want to say more, because there are so many things I don't want to give away, but I truly loved this story.

All in all, I enjoyed this book and I hope we;ll get more stories or glimpses in the lives of the Mongomery clan.
