A doctor living a double life

By day, Dr. Will Daley is one of Dallas’s most eligible bachelors, but every night he dons his leathers as one of Sanctum’s most desired Doms. He’s sworn off looking for a long-term relationship but is captivated by the club’s newest member, Bridget Slaten, even though they couldn’t be more different. She comes from a world of privilege and he was raised in poverty. When he discovers she needs a date to her sister’s wedding, he makes certain he’s literally the only man for the job.

A woman no longer willing to live in the shadows

For most of her life, Bridget hid herself behind her laptop. She can write romantic, sensuous lives for her characters but not herself. Having Master Will as her date to the wedding is a thrilling prospect but he has a special request. He wants her to accept two weeks of his services as a Dom, a lover, and expert in BDSM, and that is an offer she can’t refuse. Their sexual chemistry is undeniable, but it’s in the tender moments that Bridget realizes she’s falling for a man who might never trust her with his heart.

A love strong enough to cherish

Together in paradise for a week, Will realizes he can’t imagine his life without Bridget. As the wedding approaches, ghosts from their past come back to haunt them and threaten to ruin the peace they’ve found. With everything exposed, they will have to risk it all to claim the love that can set them both free.

I've been intrigued by Will ever since I read Dungeon Games and the poor guy got framed for murder. I was very happy to see him get his happy ending.

Will and Bridget are a very fascinating couple. Normally they wouldn't work, but I can't see the good doctor with anyone else but Bridget now. She kind of forced him to open up in a way he never had before with anyone, and it was beautiful to watch. Bridget is a wonderful woman, a strong one, and one who hides behind her anger in order to protect her heart. She loves with all her heart, but usually she doesn't get what she wants, which is a man who loves her for who she is, without looking at her last name, her fortune or her family. So when Will comes along, she runs scared at first. I had fun seeing her face a few of her fears, including facing her family.

I liked Will. Like I said, I was very intrigued by him, and finally getting to know his story got me all excited. I was also kind of disappointed a little bit when he tried to keep emotional distance from Bridget, but then again he had a pretty messed up childhood, having to raise his three younger sisters while he himself was still a child. So it makes sense that he had a little bit of a hard time acknowledging his feelings.

I liked the chemistry between Will and Bridget. They complemented each other well, Bridget being the outrageous one, while Will is the quiet, sensible one. But they work together, and that's what I loved about them.

I also loved seeing the gang stand up for Will and Bridget. It was super funny to me seeing Ian all giddy and excited for all the wrong reasons, and I giggled like a loon whenever he said something crazy sarcastic. And he was sarcastic, very much so.

All in all, a great story in the Masters and Mercenaries universe, and I am already craving more.
