The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
Hey guys! It's crazy that we're two weeks into the new year. Where did the time go? I've been really sick this week, with a nasty case of the flu, complete with sneezing fits, sore throat and fever, which is probably why I have no sense of time at the moment, and also why I've been absent from the blog.
Last Week On The Blog
As I said, I haven't been posting all that much so far this January, because I've been very sick. I'm just now starting to feel slightly human, so I do believe this flu and me are close to breaking up. Best. Breakup. Ever! I did manage to write two reviews despite my flu:
- Blog Tour Book Review: Evidence Of Desire by Lexi Blake
- Blog Tour Book Review: Forever Broken by Carrie Ann Ryan
Last Week On The Blog
I have a lot of fun stuff planned for the blog. I have my first audiobook review coming up, a discussion post on (you guessed it!) audiobooks, and some other reviews, as well as Top Ten Tuesday. There may or may not be some more surprises in store. So make sure you come back this week to check them all out.
Around The Blogosphere
- This oldie blog post was in one of my newsletters this morning and it's so accurate for me today, that I had to share. Isabel from Sab The Book Eater talks about Blogger Woes regarding spelling a word and it's like she's looking deep into my soul.
- Becky from Uptown Oracle talks about procrastination, what it is, and gives out some ideas on how to deal with it. I really needed such a post this week, because LOOK AT ME WRITING A POST when I wasn't planning on it.
- Olivia from Olivia's Catastrophe (blog and Youtube channel) shared the third and last installment in her discussion on Explicit sexual scenes in YA and New Adult fantasy books on her Booktube channel and invited 4 other booktubers to join in on the discussion.
- Evelina from Avalinah's Books and Andrea from Little Red Reviewer talk about being organized and if we maybe are trying too hard to be organized, and that post hit me, because I do try to be as organized as everybody else seems to be and when I fail, it makes me feel really bad about myself. So I needed to read this post to remind me that I can still be professional and I can still do this while improvising stuff as I go.
New Arrivals at Ruby's Books
- Between The Sea And Stars by Chantal Gadoury - I received an audiobook version of this book as part of the audiobook blog tour hosted by Jess from The Audiobookworm and I've already started listening to it and so far I'm loving it.
- Your Tarot Court: Read Any Deck with Confidence by Ethony Dawn - I saw this on Netgalley a few days ago, and I knew I had to grab it. I love tarot, but I've never quite mastered the art of reading the cards properly, and I also love the conversations that it can lead to, and this book sounds very interesting. Also, as a psychologist, whenever I see talk about archetypes my ears perk up much like my dog's do when he hears me going to the "magical room" that holds his treats.
- Llewellyn's Little Book of Tarot by Barbara Moore - This is another tarot book I saw on Netgalley and I grabbed it as fast as I could.
- The A-Z of Gender and Sexuality: From Ace to Ze by Morgan Potts - This book was mentioned by Michelle from Michelle Likes Things on the New Bloggers discord group and I was very intrigued, so I was super happy to see it was still available on Netgalley and I was even happier when I was approved for an egalley.
