Down The TBR Hole #6

Hello dear book lovers and welcome to another post in the Down The TBR Hole feature hosted by the awesome Lia.

You already know the drill, let's get started!

Today we start the count at 2947 books, which is 4 books extra than where we last ended things. I kinda went to town a little bit and added some books, but in my defence they were super interesting and I had to!

  • The Summoning is not even up for discussion. As it's set in the same world as Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series, I'm definitely going to read this trilogy and its spin-off. Verdict: It stays
  • I don't know much about Angel's Blood, but I've been intrigued by this series for a long long time, and I enjoy Nalini Singh's writing style, so I'll definitely check this book out. Verdict: It stays
  • I'm not entirely sure about Paranormalcy. On the one hand I'm tempted, on the other the blurb reminds me a bit about the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, and I'm not sure I want another Fever series. I don't see myself reading Paranormalcy any time soon. Verdict: It goes
  • Over the years I've heard so much about the House of Night series, not all of it good, not all bad, but enough to make my interest all but disappear. Verdict: It goes
  • I'm actually very excited about reading Working for the Devil. I listened to the sample chapter from GraphicAudio and I am definitely, 100% going to read this book. I just hope the book ends up being as good as the audiobook sample made it sound. Verdict: It stays

  • You guys know me, I see anything related to a vampire and I'm ready to read. However, Anno Dracula doesn't sound like the book for me, not anymore at least. Verdict: It goes
  • I've forgotten the number of times I've picked up The Name of the Rose, only to put it back on the shelf after a few pages. For the longest time I was certain this was a book I would enjoy. Sadly, I don't see this happening, so I'll have to break up with it. It's not the book, it's me. Verdict: It goes
  • How To Marry a Millionaire Vampire basically proves what I said previously: I do have a thing for vampires. And Kerrelyn Sparks has been on my "to read" list for a while now, so I'm definitely going to be reading this one. Verdict: It stays
  • See, I told you I could track my reading moods looking at my TBR shelf. I added Tall, Dark & Dead when I wanted magic in my chic lit. I'm not sure why I haven't read it yet, but hopefully soon. Verdict: It stays
  • Same goes for Sorcery and the Single Girl. I definitely want to read it. Verdict: It stays

  • I can't really say when I added Evermore. I do know however that looking through the reviews of some of my most trusted fellow bookworms I'm not getting ready to read this book faster or sooner. Sadly, it has to go. Verdict: It goes
  • I know almost nothing about Klasky's How Not To Make A Wish except that it's written by Klasky, and I know I've enjoyed the book I've read by her many, many years ago. And I'm curious. So I'm reading it. Verdict: It stays
  • Castle is probably one of my favorite TV shows ever, and the fact that there's a book written by "Richard Castle" out there makes me insanely happy. I've also not been fortunate enough to find a procedural book that matches my expectations, so I'm hoping Heat Wave will be that book. Verdict: It stays
  • I have no memory of adding Deadtown, but looking at the cover and the blurb, I can see why I added it. When I was reading everything paranormal/urban fantasy I possibly could, I started craving more creatures than just werewolves and vampires. I know, I'm surprised at myself too! I haven't read many zombie books, but this might be one of the books I'm definitely going to read. Verdict: It stays
  • Nightshade sounds like the kind of book I would have enjoyed a few years back. Sadly, I'm not that reader anymore, and I don't think I'll be reading this book. Verdict: It goes

  • History is one of my favorite subjects, and lost artifacts are the things that always get my attention. Why? Because they represent a part of history that no one actually knows, and they have the power to make or break history as we know it. The Alexander Cipher should, as such, sound like an obvious reading choice for me. There's something keeping me from reading it, though I can't say what exactly, but most likely a combination of high expectations and really low ratings. I'll probably end up reading this book, but I'm not sure when. Verdict: Moved to the maybe shelf
  • I don't know when I added The Dracula Dossier on my TBR, but I can see why. Put Jack the Ripper and Dracula in one blurb and I'm intrigued. Sadly, I'm not feeling too intrigued, so I don't think I'll be reading this one. Verdict: It goes
  • Finally, one of my most anticipated books has a blurb, a cover, and a release date. I most definitely will read Promises Decide when it comes out later this year. Verdict: It stays
  • I have vague memories of reading the first Wild About You book, so I'm probably going to have to do a reread before reading A Werewolf in the North Woods. Verdict: It stays
  • I have no excuse for not reading Mine to Hold up until now. None whatsoever. I most definitely need to reread the entire series though. Verdict: It stays
STATS

Out of 20 books I ended up removing 7 from my TBR, and I also moved 1 to my Maybe shelf. This brings my TBR count down to 2939. Things are looking good. This cleaning is actually a great idea. Can't wait to see what books I discover next week on my TBR.

    1. Right? I'm having the same dilemma, especially since with a few of them I'm getting interested again because of the blurb. Also I'm having an "oldies" phase, where I want to read a lot of books that I was interested in when I was in university which is weird a bit lol
